Top Five NFL Playoff Teams for This season 2010-2011

1.      Baltimore Ravens- Quarterback Joe Flacco coming into his own under pressure look for the Ravens to make some serious noise in the post season.  The Ravens have one of the most complete teams on both sides of the ball, there defense has been top notch for the past decade. The only weakness was their offense and with the addition of T.J. and Boldin. Dave picks the Ravens to win the super bowl.

2.      New York Jets – Despite their latest showing, we think the Jets are a very dangerous team and it starts at the top with head coach Rex Ryan.  They have the second best defense in the league this season with stand out corner Revis back healthy and Pace returning.  If Sanchez can figure out how to spread the field by using Holmes and Edwards that can open up things for Tomlinson and Greene.

3.      Pittsburgh Steelers – Big Ben is back and their defense is still the best in the league.  I think the Steelers will be a serious threat in the playoffs.  They are an experienced team who knows how to win and they have great team chemistry because they have been together for a while.

4.      New York Giants - This may seem like a shocker to many but this team is playing like they did when they won the super bowl.  Manning has found a go to receiver to replace Burress and their defense and special teams are clicking now.  This team reminds me a lot of their championship team but with a more potent running game.

5.      New Orleans Saints - In order to be the best your must beat the best, and the Saints are the best.  Struggling earlier on this season due to some injuries to key players, I think this team is poised to make a serious run when they get healthy which will be really soon. I pick the Saints to win the super bowl again this season.

Week 5 picks

The big news this week was Randy Moss returning home to the Vikings.  Simply put, we both love this trade for the Vikings.  We think that Moss and Favre will play lethal together.  Moss has the motivation to play hard because it’s his contract year, and Favre is in his final season of his career.
Dave’s Picks
Chicago @ Carolina – Julius Peppers returns home to face a rookie quarterback.  Good luck rookie!!  The Bear’s defense will be too much to handle this Sunday.  Look for cutler to rebound for a dismal outing against the giants where he was sacked nine times and suffered a concussion.  The Bears are going to win by three.
Atlanta @ Cleveland – I likes the Falcons in this one.  They are the better team on both sides of the ball.  I expect Ryan to have a big game against that Browns defense.  The Falcons needs another strong road win under their belts.  This should be a close game, but the Falcons have a better quarterback.  ATL is going to win by three.
San Diego @ Oakland– Historically the Chargers has had their way against the woeful Raiders and I don’t expect anything to change this week.  Look for a blowout this Sunday, the Chargers are hitting their stride now.  The Chargers are going to win by seven.
Philadelphia @ San Francisco – Without Vick I think the Eagles will struggle.  The 49ers need this win badly and they have been very close to winning in recent weeks loosing by a very small margin.  Look for the 49ers to play their hearts out at home.  Kolb needs more time to find his Barings.  The Philly fans will be chanting Vicks name early and often.  49ers are going to win by seven.

My Picks
Philadelphia @ San Francisco – I agree with Dave on this game. Vick is going to be out due a rib cartilage injury he suffered last week and because of that the Eagles are going to struggle. Kevin Kolb gets another chance to prove to the football world that he’s capable of being a good starting quarterback. I wish Kolb the best of luck because he’s going to need. The 49ers are 0-4 and they are hungry right now for a win. I think they’re going to get it on Sunday. I pick the 49ers to win by three.
Tampa Bay @ Cincinnati The Bengals would be looking to take back the upsetting lost they got last week against the Cleveland Browns. T.O played great in that game and if he plays the same or even better this week then the Bengals are going to win this game. Tampa Bay is one of the worst teams this season and I don’t think that they pose as a treat to the Bengals this week. Once Batman and Robin show up and do what they do best they this should be an easy win for the Bengals. I think CIN is going to win by seven.
New Orleans @ Arizona – As you all know by now the Saints is my favorite and they’re one of the best defensive teams in the league. Their offense is a little weak and out of order right now but I hope that they can get it back on track this week by beating the Arizona Cardinals who by the way can’t really do anything right. The Cardinals just got blown out by the Chargers last week 41-10 and I think that this week wouldn’t be any different. I pick the Saints to win by seven.
Minnesota @ New York Jets – Randy Moss is back to the team where he started his great career. I think that Favre and Moss are going to be deadly against the Jets plus Favre is one touchdown pass away from 500 in his career so I think he’s going to really try and get that on Monday night against the Jets. I would like for Minnesota to win as a celebration of Moss coming back and making their offense more explosive but the Jets have defense and I personally think that defense wins games. This game should be a very close because one team has great defense while the other has great offense. I think that the Jets are going to win by three.

Randy Moss traded to the Vikings

Today the New England Patriots made a big move. They traded Randy Moss back to the Minnesota Vikings, the place where he started his career in the NFL back in 1998The Patriots would be receiving a 2011 third-round draft pick in exchange for the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver. Moss wanted a new deal because he’s in his final year of his contract but he wouldn’t get one from the trade with the Vikings. This is Moss’s thirteenth season in the NFL, he’s 33 years old and he has played for three different teams so far. He has played 190 games, had 935 receptions with his longest being 82 yards, he has ran 14.604 with 151 touchdowns and 12 fumbles. His current stats for the season with the Patriots are nine receptions, 139 yards and three touchdowns. This trade is going to help Randy Moss because he’s going to play more motivated and a motivated Randy Moss is really good Moss. It would also help the Vikings because they’re in need of a big time wide receiver since Sidney Rice went down with a hip injury. We should also see a different Brent Favre out there on the field now because his passing game would definitely improve because he has a better wide receiver now and when Rice comes back it going to be double the trouble for the other teams in the league. New England on the other hand has lost a very versatile player and would now be relying on Wes Welker and their other young wide receivers to set up and play big. I think that the Patriots are looking to build a young talented team around Tom Brady and this move enhances them for next season because they’re going to get two picks in every season round in the 2011 draft. I can’t wait to see how Randy Moss plays with Vikings because I think we’re going to see a whole new Randy. Here are a few highlights of Randy Moss so that you the readers can see what he’s capable of.
